For our latest hardware review, we tested out Geekvape’s Sonder U vape kit. The kit is advertised as a compact pod kit that carries a 1000mAh battery. Designed to be portable and easy to use, this is a device aimed at MTL vapers of all experience levels. When I first laid eyes on the Geekvape Sonder U, I didn’t think it was going to be anything special. The kit was made for simplicity and, as such, I wasn’t hugely impressed by the minimalist design. However, its modest size and slender design are perfect for people wanting a portable pod kit for a handy all-day vape. Plus the wine red colour added a bit of pizazz to an otherwise run of the mill kit design.
The way the device functions couldn’t be more straightforward. I think this makes it ideal for those who prefer to avoid any gimmicky features. I liked that I didn’t have to faff around with any fire buttons because the device is draw activated. Although it can be fun to explore a more complicated vape kit, I enjoyed the simplicity of the Sonder U.
The pod can be easily changed by pulling the old one out and slotting in a new one. The big magnets and large pod bay hold the pod securely which reduces the risk of it falling out. The coil I used was a 0.7ohm coil that came included in the kit.
The flavour delivery was decent. I used Above Ohm Fruit Tart and the taste was spot on. I have found that some devices can’t handle very sweet e-liquids. However, the Sonder U delivered a really accurate flavour and the throat hit was incredibly smooth.
What I enjoyed most about the Geekvape Sonder U was how great the flavour delivery was. Especially considering how easy the device is to use. I think it would be a handy kit for vapers who have just started or those looking to make the switch from disposables to reusable vape kits.
