This week we take a look at a popular device that SMKD has stocked for some time, the OXVA Xlim Pod Kit.
Impressed with the latest release by OXVA, the Xlim SQ, Carl, SMKD’s lead web developer is back for more, and it is safe to say that their pod kit didn’t disappoint.
OXVA’s Xlim Pod is a stylish device with a long-lasting battery and adjustable airflow. It claims “X-treme” flavour and an experience much like smoking a real cigarette.
Inside the box you get the OXVA Xlim Pod device, two 2ml Xlim Pod Cartridges – one 0.6 ohm (20 to 25 Watts) and one 0.8 ohm (12 to 16 Watts) – the user manual and one USB C charging cable.
After picking up the Xlim SQ recently, I wanted an easy to carry backup device for when the battery runs low. With both devices using the same cartridges, the obvious choice was the OXVA Xlim Pod kit.
With its sleek, pen shaped design, this vape kit is easy to transport and hold whilst carrying out everyday tasks.
Not only is the pod kit portable, but it comes in an array of colours from Arctic Ice to Green Lemon. Though for those who prefer a simpler and more sophisticated look, I would recommend the silver or black body. (I would have preferred black, but unfortunately we didn’t have one at the time.)
The OXVA Xlim Pod has a nice, solid aluminium alloy body that makes it incredibly durable, which is perfect for me as I drop mine almost daily. Another great feature of the pod kit is the low profile button which prevents accidental firing in your pocket or bag. It can also be locked for additional safety.
The pod also comes with some handy properties such as the LED screen which shows battery level, current wattage and number of puffs taken on the device. No need to worry about the battery unexpectedly running out.
This is an autodraw kit with the option to use the fire button. Personally, I prefer auto draw as it is such a convenient feature. Before using an OXVA Xlim, I had forgotten how great a feature like this can be when you’re out and about or hard at work.
The ability to control wattage and adjust the airflow were some of the factors that drew me to the OXVA Xlim Pod Kit. The airflow can be easily altered by sliding the valve at the side. Usually, I leave this open so I can take more in, but for those who prefer a feeling closer to smoking a real cigarette, closing it up partially can create this effect.
This is an MTL or RDTL device, which is uncommon for me as I am predominantly a direct to lung vaper, but OXVA Xlim once again managed to prove me wrong. I continue to be impressed by the smooth sensation it creates while still creating a good approximation for traditional smoking.
Refilling the OXVA Xlim Pod Kit is easy. You simply refill the pod from the side by removing the rubber stopper. It is anti-leakage, which is great because it saves the clean-up usually required after the coil burns out.
As someone who essentially chain-vapes, battery life is a crucial feature I look for whenever choosing my pod kit. For me, the OXVA Xlim lasts around ten hours – or around 8mls of e-liquid, which is around 4 or 5 cartridge refills. But for someone who vapes more moderately it would likely last all day.
As a device that boasts its ability to deliver “X-treme” flavour, the OXVA Xlim Pod Kit has a big name to live up to. And it does so without fail. In fact, what makes it stand out from other devices is its high intensity hit of flavour.
The pod kit works fantastically with both Nic Salts and shortfills. I myself have been using it with DNA Vapes 50/50 shortfills. I use Peach Ice, NRG Ice and Blueberry Razz Lemonade, and the flavours are incredible.
If you’re trying to quit smoking and want a smooth transition that creates the effect of a real cigarette while keeping the cravings at bay, I would definitely recommend the OXVA Xlim. Alternatively if it is an intense flavour you are searching for, the OXVA Xlim Pod Kit could be just the device.
