Innokin-Sceptre-2-Review

Innokin Sceptre 2 Review

Following last Sunday’s review of the Innokin Endura Apex, this week SMKD are reviewing another creation by Innokin. We tried out the second model in the Innokin Sceptre range to bring you our Innokin Sceptre 2 Review.

What is the Innokin Sceptre 2

The Innokin Sceptre 2 is a new and improved version of the original Innokin Sceptre. With a smaller design, the kit comes with faster coil swapping technology, improved airflow and a 1400mAh battery.

What’s in the Box?

Inside the box is a Sceptre 2 vape kit, an already installed 0.6 ohm S Coil, a spare 0.5 ohm S Coil, and a type C USB charging cable. Also included in the box is a quick start guide and a warning booklet.

Look and Feel

When I first picked up the Innokin Sceptre 2, it reminded me of something a business executive from the 1980s might keep on his desk. The boxy pen design is somehow retro, but also smart just like a crisp suit. The rounded off corners make it a bit trendier, but the design as a whole is undoubtedly sophisticated. I would probably choose one of these to match my suit at a wedding or something similar.

One of the things I like about the design of the Innokin Sceptre 2 is that, despite its boxy appearance, the device fits nicely in the hand and feels comfortable to hold. Finding a slender pod kit that is the right shape and feel can be difficult, but I had no complaints about this one. It was easily portable as well, which is always great.

The Sceptre 2 has a nice range of colours that match the elegant look of the device itself. The device I tested was Rainforest Green. I liked this colour as I thought it was very rich and vibrant without being overly loud. My favourite colour would, of course, depend on what suit I pair it with! But I thought the black or grey would be a good choice to match any outfit.

Usability

The Innokin Sceptre 2 is both a Mouth to Lung and Restricted Direct to Lung device with both button and auto-draw options. It also has improved airflow controls. Airflow can be adjusted using the slider at the side of the device. This is such a handy option because it means the draw can be altered when you’re out and about as the kit does not need to be removed.

Wattage can be controlled by pressing the power button twice when the Sceptre 2 is turned on. There are two power settings; normal (indicated by a blue LED light) and boost (indicated by a purple LED).

Refilling the tank was fairly simple. You just have to remove the stopper, remove the rubber stopper and fill through the hole. The rubber stopper was a bit difficult to remove, but other than that it wasn’t too bad. Although, I don’t like that you can’t see the level of e-liquid without removing the tank.

Oddly the coils are both push fit and screw fit. This means you have to screw the coil into a base plate and then push fit it into the tank. I didn’t really understand why it needed to be both. Why not one or the other? However, it does seem to be more leak resistant than some other push fit models I have used.

Although the Sceptre 2 comes with a 0.6 ohm coil, it is compatible with the full S Coil range. The range includes coils suitable for both sub ohm and mouth to lung style vaping.

The Innokin Sceptre 2 also boasts a 1400mAh battery meant to last all day long. I used it for almost two days, vaping consistently throughout the day, without it running out of charge. It has a really good lifespan compared to a lot of devices, which are not usually as long-lasting due to their compact design. The device does take a while to charge, but this means it can reach optimum charge, and this is probably why it manages to last so long.

Flavour

The Sceptre 2 has great flavour delivery. It is incredibly smooth and true to the flavour of the e-liquid I used… and I was satisfied with the experience.

Final Verdict

Overall, I loved the design of the Innokin Sceptre 2. It is a truly sophisticated device that would look seriously great when matched with any formal attire. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a device to go with their business suits or to wear to a formal event. If there are any Barney Stinson fans out there, the Innokin Sceptre 2 is definitely for you.
