Freemax Twister 2 Review

SMKD have recently been reviewing a series of Freemax Kits, and the next model in the lineup is the Freemax Twister 2 Kit. This week’s reviewer is Ricardo, SMKD’s graphic designer.

About the Freemax Twister 2

The Freemax Twister 2 80W is a variable wattage vape kit equipped with a 2ml Fireluke 4 Tank with FM COILTECH5.0/Double-D Mesh. It boasts a 3000mAh built in battery, a twistable wattage adjustment dial and child resistant technology.

What is in the box?

Inside the Freemax Twister 2 box is one Twister 2 80W Mod, one Freemax Twister Fireluke 4 Tank with a pre-installed 0.15ohm X1-D Mesh Coil, two 904L 0.2ohm mesh coils, an extra silicone ring, a USB Type-C Cable, a glass tube, and a user manual.

Look and Feel

One of the struggles with finding the right kit is finding one with the right look and feel. The Twister 2 80W managed to achieve the perfect balance. With its bulky, heavy cylinder design, you would think the Twister 2 would be weighty to hold, but it is surprisingly well-balanced in the hand. The kit I tested is metallic blue, but the device is available in both black and silver, as well as two funky embossed patterns named 3D orange and 3D red. But I’m a no-fuss kind of guy and I prefer the sophisticated black colour.

The button LED indicates how much charge on firing, which is a handy feature. Green is over 80%, Blue is 50% to 79% and Red is 49% or less.

Despite the large appearance of the Freemax Twister 2, it is still easily portable and can fit into most pockets. I wouldn’t recommend trying skinny jeans, though. (Is that a Freemax Twister in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?)

Usability

The Freemax Twister 2 is a direct-to-lung device, which is perfect for me as this is my preferred vaping style. Also the ability to use various coils with different levels of resistance allows you to set it up to suit your own preferences.

The device is button controlled and so, there is no autodraw. My favourite features have to be the ability to control both wattage and airflow with a simple twist. The wattage can be controlled with a dial at the bottom. The nice thing about this is that you can’t accidentally set the wattage too high like with some other models. To prevent accidental firing you can easily lock it by twisting the dial fully anti-clockwise. The airflow is controlled by twisting the collar just below the tank.

Refilling is fairly straightforward, but difficult to figure out without reading the manual. To refill, you have to lift the rim near the mouthpiece and slide the top back to refill the slot. The 3000mAh battery should easily last the user all day long. I still haven’t been able to get the battery to run out yet!

Flavour Hit

Initially, I expected the flavour hit to be quite harsh, especially given that the flavour of the DNA vape juice I was using was strong. However, flavour from the Freemax Twister 2 was surprisingly smooth.  It also delivers a lot of vapour quickly, which is a great help in cutting down the amount of cigarettes I smoke in a day.

Final Verdict

I found the Freemax Twister 2 was a joy to vape with plenty of options on the coils to suit any vaper. The amount of control options meant that I could set the device to my specific preferences. The airflow and wattage control were what really made the device stand out.

The Freemax Twister 2 will be available soon on our website and in our SMKD Stores.
