Innokin Endura Apex Review

It’s another Hardware Review Sunday! This week we tested out a brand new model from Innokin and it was a hit with our SMKD staff. This brand new vape kit isn’t even on the shelves yet, but we managed to get our hands on a kit so we could give you this exclusive sneak peak with an Innokin Endura Apex review.

What is the Innokin Endura Apex?

The Endura Apex is a new vape kit recently released by Innokin, one of the world’s leading vaping manufacturers. The device boasts adjustable airflow, a 1800mAh battery, and excellent flavour delivery. The kit is both a MTL (mouth to lung) and RDTL (restricted direct to lung) device, recommended for vapers of all experience levels.

What’s in the Box?

Inside the box is one Endura Apex kit with an already installed 0.9ohm coil, a spare Prism S Coil (0.8ohm), a spare O Ring Set to prevent leaks, a Type C charging cable, and a warning booklet.

Look and Feel

With a Cylindrical shape and a matte finish, the Innokin Endura Apex has a minimalist design. Although I thought it was quite basic, compared to most devices, I thought the no-fuss simplicity was refreshing. It is clear the Endura Apex was created more for function than for style. This is something I can appreciate. The matte black colour is modest unlike some devices, which I have found can be pretentious in their design without paying as much attention to the function of the device.

Since the device has not been released yet, I haven’t been able to see the other colours. However, I do know it comes in blue, grey, pink and purple. I can imagine with the matte design, these will be very attractive colours.

A useful addition to the Innokin Endura Apex were the three tank windows that make it so much easier to tell when you’re running out of e-liquid. Usually, it’s a guessing game, but this detail means you’re not in any danger of running out unexpectedly.

The device is easily portable. It could fit comfortably in a pocket or a handbag. It doesn’t come with a lanyard, but that isn’t really necessary with this type of device.

Overall, while a little bit basic, I did enjoy the classic, uncluttered look of the Innokin Endura Apex and I thought the tank windows were a brilliant addition.

Usability

Altogether, the Endura Apex is incredibly easy to use. It is a mouth-to-lung or restricted-direct-to-lung device activated by a button rather than autodraw.

The kit is advertised for its airflow control, which is adjusted by twisting a collar below the tank. I always look for devices with easy airflow adjustment because it gives me more control over my vaping experience. While the collar was a bit stiff, the process wasn’t complicated at all. Having a collar rather than a button or a slider is also a really good option as it prevents the airflow being altered accidentally. The wattage can also be controlled by twisting the base. There are two settings; high and low.

One of the elements I also liked about the Innokin Endura Apex is that it can be locked. This prevents accidental firing and is a great child-proof, safety feature.

Refilling the tank is dead straightforward. All you have to do is unscrew the top and pour your e-liquid into the hole. The lip above the filling slot prevents spills. Although I found that I had to be careful when screwing the cap back on as it could very easily cross thread.

The coils are also very easy to change. You just twist the base to open it, pull the installed coil to remove it, then push to insert the new coil. The device is suitable for coils in the Innokin S Prism range. I was really impressed with them. I think the quality of the coils really enhanced the performance of the kit.

In terms of battery life, I have been using the device all day and I haven’t yet managed to run down the 1800mAh battery. It should have a really long battery life, which is one of its best features.

Flavour

What I was most satisfied with was the flavour delivery of the Innokin Endura Apex. I tested it with DNA Vapes Mango Ice e-liquid and the Endura Apex produced plenty of taste. It was rich, fruity and spot on in terms of accuracy. I think this may also be due to the Prism S coils. Some coils have a tendency to alter the flavour of the e-liquid, but with the Endura Apex, the flavour tasted exactly as it should.

Final Verdict

Overall, I thought the Innokin Endura Apex had great flavour delivery and brilliant coils. It was really straightforward to use and so would be suitable for new vapers and more experienced vapers. The design was simplistic, so if you’re looking for a modest kit, this one is definitely for you. Anyone wanting an easy to use device with fantastic flavour delivery should consider purchasing an Innokin Endura Apex.
